ABOUT E TURTON PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES
FORENSIC EXPERIENCE
Dr Turton has almost ten years experience working in forensic settings, assessing risk of violence and harm. She has worked with several high profile offenders.

Independent work
Dr Turton has experience of completing psychological assessments and has given evidence in court, parole hearings and tribunals.
This includes conducting cognitive assessments of intelligence, memory, suggestibility, malingering/ effort, personality, trauma, mental illness, violence risk (including HCR-20), sexual risk, immigration matters, utilisation of translators and specialist assessments for ADHD and Autism.

NHS
​
On qualification Dr Turton worked at HMP Bronzefield and provided psychological therapy for women (sentenced and those on remand), including prisoners on restricted status.
She has since worked across several NHS medium secure wards for both men and women, as well as in a community offender personality disorder forensic service. Dr Turton has also worked in a high secure unit. These roles involved management, assessment and consultation for high risk, high harm offenders including those with violent and sexual offences.

More recently Dr Turton led the low secure and women's pathway in Oxleas NHS Foundation trust which involved supervising a team of 6 psychologists in their clinical work to manage risk and treat psychological distress.

Special Interests
​
Dr Turton has a special interest in high risk high harm sexual or violent offenders who are struggling to progress through the system (whether that be in hospital or prison) and in working with female offenders.
